As my favorite movie of all time is The Mummy, I throughly enjoyed Prince of Persia. Actually, I loved it. I haven't ever played the video game it is supposedly based on or anything, so I am not sure how to compare it to that, but Jake Gyllenhaal was exceedingly attractive and Aladdinish and it had just the right touches of humor, action, and romance. Jake, as Dastan, did some excellent parkour and had some unique surfer hair that I enjoyed looking at. Gemma Arterton, who played the Princess Tamina, is absolutely gorgeous, and acted beautifully. The story was decent and the special effects and cinematography were well done. Let me just say that lately I haven't been purchasing many movies (Netflix is a miracle) but I will most certainly be purchasing this film. Not because I think it is the best film ever made, but because I liked watching it. Yes, I had a few problems with the plot. One example being that throughout the entire film many characters said that the Apocalypse would happen if certain things occurred, and when these certain things occurred, NO APOCALYPSE. Secondly, one of the things I like most about The Mummy is the history that is involved. I didn't really get so much Persian History in this film and I think there could have been room for some. Also, I think it could have been funnier- Alfred Molina was pretty much the only comic relief in the entire film. OSTRICHES! Still, looking at it from a debater's perspective, the benefits of seeing the movie (I will restate: humor, action, romance, etc.) far outweigh the disadvantages. In conclusion, if you enjoy The Mummy and other movies like that (see also: The Librarian, Stardust, National Treasure) I believe that you may like this one as well.
On a fairly unrelated topic, I have been concentrating much of my time, money, and effort into get a TAN. Yes, this is vain, risky, and dumb, but I ask you to ask the sun to not give me cancer anyway.
